Congratulations on your new purchase, we hope it gives you many years of reliable service. Because we know that things don’t always go to plan we are pleased to offer Tech Care to give you peace of mind that if your product should break down or is accidentally damaged then you have cover. We have created a range of insurance products to cover your new purchase so that you don’t have to worry if the worst happens. We also offer Furniture Care Policies, find out more here.

What’s covered?

  • Accidental damage – if your electrical item stops working due to an accident we will fix or replace it.
  • Mechanical/electrical breakdown – if your electrical item breaks down after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired, we will fix it. If it is uneconomical to do so or if we can’t fix it, we will replace it.
  • Repair of your electrical equipment – we will collect your electrical item for free, repair and deliver it back to you at your convenience.
  • Replacement of your electrical equipment – if we cannot repair your electrical equipment we will reimburse you for the original purchase price of your electrical item to spend in store. Your product is covered for up to two replacements during the policy term.
  • New for old - if we are unable to repair your electrical item, you may choose a replacement from Office Outlet up to the original purchase price. If you would like an item that is over the original purchase price, you may pay the difference towards it.
  • Worldwide cover - Confidence you can take your item anywhere with you. Worldwide cover is included as standard. Your electrical equipment will only be collected from and sent back to a valid UK address.
  • No hidden charges - A one-time payment covers you for the life of the plan. You will not have to pay any excess, fees or costs in the event of a claim.

Some other things you need to know

Tech Care does not cover everything so please make sure that you have been given an Insurance Product Information Document - this will show you the key exclusions as well as other important information. You should also receive a full set of terms and conditions that you should read carefully to make sure the cover is right for you.

You can change your mind

Insurance can be cancelled within the first 45 days from purchase and as long as no claim has been made you will receive a full refund of the premiums paid.

After the first 45 days you can still cancel your insurance at any time and as long as you've not made a claim you will receive a pro rata refund for any full month remaining on your policy.

The insurer can cancel the policy by giving 45 days' written notice to your last known address. If you've not made a claim you would receive a pro rata refund as above.

Office Outlet will share your information with the Tech Care scheme administrators and insurers for the purpose of arranging and administering your policy and handling your claim. Their details can be found in your terms and conditions along with their Data Protection notices.

 

 

For policies purchased on or before 30th June 2018 your policy is administered by Assurant. In the event that an Assurant policy holder wishes to make a claim, make a complaint or have a general query they are required to call the Assurant Care team on 0333 122 0982. Complaints can also be raised by email on ukcomplaints@assurant.com.
